The help file can be used as a standalone file, but if you want to use it through the Help >> Maxthon Help menu, follow these steps:

1. Close the browser and open Task Manager to make sure that the process has not remained in memory. If you see any Maxthon.exe processes on the Processes tab kill them all.
2. Unzip the file to your language folder in Maxthon\Language directory (e.g. to Maxthon\Language\English).
3. Open the language folder.
4. Rename the unzipped MaxthonHelp  02-08-2005.chm file to help.chm
5. Open language.ini in Notepad.
6. Find line that starts with 854 under the [Strings] section and (if needed) update it with the correct file name:

854=help.chm

7. Save the modified file and restart the browser.

Note:

If it doesn't work for you and you have "English" selected as your language in Maxthon, you might need to change your language to "English for translation" (this can be done through Options >> Maxthon Options >> Advanced). Remember to close and restart the browser afterwards.
